The Caves Sidcot Swallet

This cave starts with a narrow descending passage that leads to 'The Tie Press', a squeeze into the large 'Boulder Chamber'. From here a crawl at the back of the chamber takes the caver into the 'Water Chamber'. The chamber has nice formations of stalactite and stalagmite flowstone, and an impossible looking 6 meter hole in the floor called the 'Lobster Pot'.

A squeeze down the hole takes us to a crawl in to 'Paradise Chamber'. The climb back out of the Lobster Pot can be very difficult, so bring your sleeping bag. The cave was discovered in 1925, by Sidcot School Spelaeological Society, the famous Quaker school in Somerset.
